Template: DECA Entrepreneurship Participating Event:
Creating an Independent or Franchising Business

This Microsoft Word template is designed to help you meet the formatting guidelines for the written entry prospectus. The template includes the following formatting settings, as required by the competition guidelines:
  • Cover page format
  • Section titles as required
  • Double and single spacing of text
  • Page Numbering
 
You may begin writing your prospectus by scrolling down this document and typing in the spaces after each heading. Update the table of contents with the appropriate page numbers when you have finished entering all of your prospectus information. Be sure to consult the DECA competition guidelines for information on what you should include in each section.

As you write your prospectus, you can save, print, and format your file just as you would any other document. But note that some of the above formatting settings have been locked. If you wish to change them, you must unlock the template by clicking the LOCK icon on the
Forms Toolbar. To view the Forms Toolbar, choose VIEW | TOOLBARS | FORMS (check should be on). Be careful when doing this otherwise you might inadvertently alter other important formatting settings!

  • This template is based on the DECA 2003-2004 guidelines. If you are using this for future events, be sure to verify the rules.
  • This template has not been approved or endorsed by DECA.
