Gaming Software to Teach Financial Literacy in Ontario Schools

A partnership between technology giant IBM and a Nova Scotia software development company has made financial and business gaming software available in 900 Ontario schools.
 
Together, MediaSpark Inc. and IBM Canada, through their global Academic Initiative program, won the Ministry of Education’s tender to provide financial literacy software in Ontario schools. Students from grades seven to twelve enrolled in programs using GoVenture simulation software will work through virtual scenarios designed to develop entrepreneurship, accounting, financial literacy, and personal finance skills.
